The Great Interior Reveal: Saying Goodbye to 1999 Florals
September 2026 6 min

When we bought Dazey, we promised ourselves we'd preserve her charm. Then we unrolled the valances and were greeted by florals that could only be described as 'enthusiastic.'
The plan: warm ivory paint on the cabinet faces, brushed-gold hardware to echo the original fixtures, and a sage accent wall behind the dinette. Natural wood trim stays — that's her bones.
We're keeping the original Lazy Daze cabinetry layout. It's genuinely well-designed, which is half the reason we hunted so hard for this rig. The bones are good; the finishes just needed a gentler decade.
Next up: reupholstering the dinette cushions in a cream-and-sage weave. Nikki has opinions. Phil has a staple gun.
Life is better with a little Dazey.
